Double-toothed Kite

Harpagus bidentalis

Howell and Webb have this species as a resident along the Caribbean slope and include additional locations in southern Honduras and El Salvador. I have only ever seen this species in the area on three occasions and all within the range given by Howell and Webb. I have seen one bird at Pico Bonito, one at Tikal and a group of 4 birds near Poptun, which is on the road south from Tikal.
