| This is a fairly common species throughout
most of the region (Howell and Webb do not include some of the
highlands of western Guatemala within the range), though it
is never common. In open areas they are sometimes seen sitting
up on exposed branches, but in more forested areas its distinctive
call is usually the best indication of its presence. I have
seen this species at a number of locations throughout the region
(though I have still never seen one in Guatemala) and in a wide
variety of habitat, though they tend to be commoner in more
open areas. |
