Red-footed Booby

Sula sula

Tom Jenner

Jehl reported seeing small numbers of this species every day when he did counts off the Pacific coast of northern Central America between 10th and 17th April 1973. On my pelagic trip off the coast of Guatemala on 11th May, we saw one bird and on my pelagic trip off El Salvador on 2nd July, we saw two. All three sightings were of immature birds. This species is a common breeder on Little Swan, which is an island in the Caribbean belonging to Honduras.
