| The range map given by Howell and
Webb only includes northern Guatemala and north-west Honduras.
They also include a local population in Southern Guatemala (presumably
Monterrico where I have seen them regularly). However, they
are also found in El Salvador, where they are reasonably common
at Guija Lake and El Jocotal. In Honduras, I have seen them
at Lago Yojoa and at Cuero y Selado (which is a little east
of the range given by Howell and Webb). It is not clear whether
this species has expanded its range or just went unnoticed previously. |
