Wilson’s Storm-Petrel

Oceanites oceanicus

Jehl reported this species regularly in small numbers when he did counts off the Pacific coast of northern Central America between 10th and 17th April 1973. He described it as “regular though uncommon between Michoacan (in Mexico) and Guatemala”, though it is normally considered to be “extremely rare in the eastern North Pacific”. I did not see this species on either of my pelagic trips, which were off the coast of Guatemala on 11th May and off El Salvador on 2nd July.
